Dear fellow Rotarians and friends of Rotary:
I am writing to remind you of our upcoming Rotary Service Project this Saturday, December 8 from 9am to 12pm at Shark Valley in the Everglades National Park (http://www.angelfire.com/fl3/SharkValley/) where we will be helping to build a nature trail.
I have included directions here, and note that it is about an hour away.
The plan is to meet in the park at 9 am. Let the park entrance people know you are with Rotary to do the service project. We will meet at the Shark Valley Visitors Center. We will be clearing a nature trail and helping the park with removal of invasive plant species. Around noon we’ll call it a day.
For those who RSVP by Thursday, our club will be providing sandwiches, otherwise, please bring a lunch. Then, in appreciation of our hard work, Park Ranger Jenny Guerra will take us on a tram ride on the loop, which is supposed to be a great experience (and normally a $20 value).
Bring appropriate attire and supplies – they recommend a hat, gloves, long sleeves, pants, sun screen, bug repelant, and water. Also, they will provide tools, but hedge clippers are appreciated if you have access.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Also, contact me if you would be willing to carpool with our other members.
Yours in Rotary Service,
Eric P. Gros-Dubois
PS – RSVP BY THURSDAY PLEASE AND OUR CLUB WILL PROVIDE A SANDWICH.
